So we asked Maui PD for all the monthly reports they submit to the AG’s office from the year 2000 until current. we got 3 years, 2015-2016-2017-2018. we are not sure what the county our PD’s record keeping requirements are but thats a subject for another UIPA request.
You can clearly see that it lists two different types of permits, One for civilians and one for security guards.
Does this mean that the state/AG and the county’s treat their applications differently and they dont in fact issue permits to non security guards and never have ?
