Firearms; Storage; Responsibility with Respect to Minors
Raises the maximum age of minors for which safe storage of firearms is required from sixteen to eighteen years.

WHAT DOES THIS BILL DO?
- Raises the age where firearms are required to be secured when a minor is present in the home from 16 to 18 years of age
WHY DOES HIFICO OPPOSE THIS BILL?
- Denies access to young adults to firearms in order to hunt or defend themselves. Does not take into account the maturity of the indivdual and instead makes the parents or guardian into a criminal if the minor gains access to the firearm.
